PEOPLE AND CULTURE

Sustainability

Responsible commitment is at the heart of our business.

At Nordic Pharma, we are committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR), with a five-year roadmap focusing on driving positive and sustainable change for the environment, our people and society, and our supply chain.

Embedding our commitment to sustainability in our corporate strategy ensures that it is part of the decision-making process throughout our operations. Our roadmap has three pillars: people, planet and prosperity, with related goals and actions. Our CSR Charter and governing policies and processes underpin our activity.

Making a sustainable impact on people’s health

Our first CSR Report, ‘Making a sustainable impact on people’s health’, covers our 2022-23 activity. As well as highlighting who we are, what we do, and how we work, the report shares our commitment and achievements against our roadmap.

A demonstrable commitment

Our responsible business practices have seen Nordic Pharma ranked in the top 35% of rated organizations by EcoVadis, as we retained our Bronze certification.

The evaluation covers 21 sustainability indicators grouped into four key themes:

  • Environment
  • Labour & Human Rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable Procurement

Our retained EcoVadis rating underscores our team’s and stakeholders’ dedication to driving positive change. At the same time, our overall score increased, putting us in the top half of bronze-certified companies. This achievement reflects our commitment to our CSR strategy and the focus on sustainability and responsible business practices.

In early 2023, we joined the PSCI – the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative. In doing so, we further strengthen our commitment to a responsible supply chain. The PSCI is a group of pharmaceutical and healthcare companies working together to establish and promote responsible and ethical practices and environmental sustainability in the pharmaceutical industry’s supply chain.

“Driving sustainable change in our supply chain is a key pillar of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, championed by our CEO and executive leadership, and this marks an important step in this direction.”

Supporting global ambitions

Early in 2024, we were proud to join the United Nations Global Compact, reinforcing our pledge to uphold responsible business practices. By holding ourselves accountable to the ten principles of the UNGC, we hope to reflect our core values here at Nordic Pharma.

We have mapped our CSR strategy against the most relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and recognize that we have a responsibility to advance action in these areas.

  • SDG 3: Good health and wellbeing: At the core of Nordic Pharma’s business is the goal to improve people’s health around the world through our products
  • SDG 5: Gender equality: Many of our products are designed for women and support equal access to healthcare and good health
  • SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production: We strive to ensure that we are respectful in our use of natural resources
  • SDG 13: Climate action: We must all take action to respond to a changing climate and work to reduce our environmental impacts

A better way to work

Throughout our business and our organization, we have embedded responsible practices. From our values and code of conduct to our commitments to quality and patient safety, caring about people and our planet comes naturally to Nordic Pharma.
